01. To think about before you start
- Because of radio waves the input might get noisy so please enable airplane-mode before you start.
- Acoustic feedback might occur if you don’t use the speaker. Please use headphones or lower the speaker volume while the microphone is set to on.
- Before you start RecTools02 make sure to connect any external devices that you plan to use and don’t unplug them until you are finished (it will result in a little delay since the audio system must be reinitialized). iPod touch users should not unplug any microphone external hardware cause the audio system can not be reinitialized after an such action, the application will still run but it not possible to play or record without doing a reboot).
02. WAVE screen parts explanation and functions
1. GRID
Bars are showed with lines on the top of WAVE area2. SNAP
Smallest unit of moving and editing can be appointed here.3. TRACK
It shows track name.4. REC MODE
This is to activate record mode for track.5. MUTE
Selected tracks will be muted.6. SOLO
Other unselected track will be muted. The function is not available in Solo track.7. ADD TRACK
New tracks will be added.8. BAR NUMBER
Bar numbers are displayed here.9. POSITION BAR/CONTROL AREA
It will be the start point of PLAY and RECORD function.(About CONTROL AREA, please check part 4)It shows Wave start point and edit positions.
10. WAVE/WAVE AREA
Recorded Wave is showed visually here.You can slide web area with your finger.
Resize it while touching the monitor with 2 fingers and sliding one og them.
11. POSITON TIME
Position Bar position is shown with numbers.Generally, time will be shown here and the bar when you tap.
12. BPM/TIME SIGNATURE/METRONOME
BPM inside project, Rhythm change. Metronome functions can be setted specifically here.13. Screen Select

It is multi uses for Record preparations and Mixing.MIXER that is seperated in each unit is introduced here.
■Input Channel Unit【ST-IN】
1. PAN-POT
In Record Input, you can set tones stereo level here.2. CLIP
This is a caution light for warning when sound for recording is setted out of limit.3. INPUT VOLUME FADER
This is for adjusting input level on recording time.(It is available for Software use only, not for adjusting Gain on Hardware.)
4. INPUT LEVEL METER
This is sound input meter for recording.■Audio Track Unit
1. MUTE
Tracks that are selected will be muted.2. SOLO
Othere unselected track will be muted. The function is not available in Solo track.3. PAN-POT
Sound position on the track will be setted here.4. CHANNEL VOLUME FADER

1.Start the application
Open Rectools08pro from the home screen of your iPhone/iPod(It you are using an external microphone make sure to connect it before you start the application.)
2.Create a new project
PressYou can also load, change name, copy and delete projects in this window.
3.To settle Project Name
After input Project name, press OK.
4.Preparations before your start to record.
If you set up the project name, it will be displayed on the Wave screen.
- After press ADD TRACK, please select MONO/STEREO and Track Name, and then OK to finish making the track.
- Then press Record Stanby button to check sounds that are allready input. You can press
- In the left, you can press button calld “MIXER” to move to the MIXER screen. Click MIXER on the button and the screen will be changed to MIXER screen.
If the button turns to RED, it means that Stanby is allright.
For the next, you can change to MIXER screen to adjust input level.
Level is controlled to avoid CLIP on the top of Fader from blinking with adjusting INPUT GAIN FADER.
CLIP Lamp will be turned on by touching it.
(The influence will impact the sound quality even if the input level is too small or too big. The best setting for recording is to put CLIP to the utmost limit.)
After level adjustments are finished, preparation for recording is finished.
5.To Record
Press05. Playback and the position bar
Play
After you pushTo remove Locate Bar
Position Bar inside the Control Area can be moved here.You can transport to first track, rewind, fast forward.
06.Wave Edit
Push
to start editing the wave
In “Rectools08pro Multi Track Recorder”, you can MOVE, COPY, PASTE, DUPLICATE, DELETE, RESIZE and SPLIT your recorded wave blocks.
With this set of features you can remove material that you don’t need and just keep the data that you want.
For seelection and moving of blocks you just have to touch the block that you want to edit.
The details are written at chapter 10. TRANSPORT and function explanations

07.Mixing
Generally here is to adjust the balance of songs. Mixer is used to adjust many channels of sounds, location of tones, and volume to perform best approach.
In Rectools08pro Multi Track Recorder, you can do mixing with Mixer screen only.

08.PC SYNC
①MIXDOWN Project
This is tool for to combine each track to Stereo 2 MIX.※It is necessary to do this for PC Sync.
②PC SYNC
Through Network, you can download mixed down datas with PC.※PC with same Wifi Network is needed.
③How to save a recorded file on a PC.
If you press the “PC-SYNC” button, an URL will be shown on the screen.Enter this URL on your web browser and access to the page.
The Rectools’ download page where your file has been saved will be displayed.
At this point, leave the app open with the PC-SYNC activated.
All WAV file recorded will be displayed on this page.
Right click on the file you want to download and then select “Save to” to save the file.
But, you need to “MIX DOWN” the file recorded before doing “PC-SYNC”.
Note that a file which was not “MIX DOWN” will not be displayed on the download page.
09.IMPORT (From a PC to Rectools)
How to import WAV file from a PC to Rectools.
First of all, prepare at least one track to transfer.Press twice on the arrow icon on the top of the WAV screen (on Rectools08).
Three menu will then be displayed: SAVE, MIXDOWN, AUDIO POOL. Press the “A.POOL” button.
The AUDIO POOL screen will open.
On the AUDIO POOL screen, four menu will be displayed. Select from these menu “PC-SYNC”.
When “PC-SYNC” button is pressed, an URL is displayed on the screen.
Enter the URL shown on Rectools in your web browser and access to the page.
AUDIO POOL page will be displayed.
Upload the WAV file to be imported. When the upload is successfully complete,
the uploaded file name will be added to the wed page.
When this step is done, press the OK button displayed on your iPhone.
The uploaded file name should appear in the application list.
Select the file you want to use and then press “INSERT”.
The file importation (from your PC to the app) is now complete.
10.AUDIOPOOL
All of the datas that are displayed on project are stored.The datas that are erased in WAVE area are able to recalled again at AUDIO POOL.
1. INSERT
After you select file in POOL and push INSERT button, position bar as start point of selected datas will be attached on the WAVE area.2. DELETE
The datas inside the Pool will be erased.By erasing from POOL, the datas that are used in the WAVE areas be erased together.
3. BACK
It will back to WAVE screen.11.TRANSPORT functions explanation
■FILE MODE
